Pringles Connections, Part IV
You may need to catch-up on the Pringles Connections, Parts I - III, but I didn't want to forget this important list - all from reading Laurie's excited email. She knew God had been speaking to her about being more hospitable - and now she was going to be and do just that. She tried it out the very next day, even tried a new recipe - Crock Pot Black Bean Soup - which was a hit - remind me to blog that for you.
Just from her enthusiastic response, I could see what a hospitable person looks like:
1. Courageous - she tried a new recipe
2. Tenacious - she asked 5 families at church until she found people who could come, last minute, to her table
3. Guest-centered - she was thinking of others, not how she might impress them
4. Humble - she decided she didn't have time to clean the whole house before they all arrived
5. Simple expectations - made for simple preparations - she was there to serve
6. Ecstatic - happy and praising God for how she was able to bless others
7. Encouraged - she will do it again, relaxed and expectant for God's help, strength and His results
Will you begin today to show God's welcoming heart through your welcoming table? Don't try to be all seven - just begin by asking God to use you and see what He does. And, when the doorbell rings, you can repeat: "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me" all the way to the door (walk slowly- you can say it more than once.)
