Mark once asked me (a long time ago...): "Are you trying to be my Holy Spirit?"
Bingo. Well, yes, I was...and I was pretty darn good at it. sigh. Funny how it never worked.
As we heard at our "Love and Respect" class at church on Sunday: "Don't try to be the Holy Spirit for your spouse - that job's been taken - no vacancies."
His job is to convict and teach and correct and connect. I love that and I need to leave that work to Him. He does do a perfect job, after all- better than any redhead.

It doesn't work very well being the Holy Spirit in your kids' lives either. I should know. I tried. Fail.
