A wise word

Pastor Tim said, wisely: "This week purposefully encourage someone specifically who is not expecting it."

It's a mouthful - I had to listen more than once (I heard him online) to get it right. We need to be intentional about encouragment. Make it specific. Make it a surprise. "Then," he went on, "watch their body language - they will visibly relax."

Try it. It works on dogs (he also said - puppies wag those tails with just the least bit of attention...)

Try it on your spouse, a colleague - even a school secretary. Tomorrow I get to sub at the middle school. I'll need to be very intentional about my encouraging comments. I'm also bringing brownies. Sometimes the best encouragment is food.
