Welcome Heart—Food for Body and Soul speaks to the Woman of Welcome. God welcomed us first, and we get to pass on His welcoming heart. Can’t think of a better reason to get up in the morning, can you?
Welcome Heart provides a home for stories of how God welcomes us to Himself and how we offer His invitation to our world.
I used to work at Pottery Barn and we sold the most beautiful and big dining tables. I loved the ones with enormous extensions in the middle. God’s table is the ultimate extension table – and He invites you to join Him and others in the meal of love and forgiveness and meaning. Every time we sit with Him, it’s a meal with meaning because we’re reminded again how much we are loved, and it all started with His invitation.
This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God. I John 4:8-10 The Message
God invites you to a forever meal of love, peace and forgiveness. And once we RSVP*, we can live His welcoming heart and offer His invitation to everyone He brings our way.

God–our Ultimate Host–welcomed us at creation, pursued us at the cross, and is busy preparing our forever home. (Better than HGTV!) He’s setting the table with room for you — and (naturally!) room for your neighbor.
The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. John 1:14 The Message
We are women of welcome. We welcome God into our lives–to change our hearts, to love Him more, and each other more–and to fill us to the brim with all that He is.
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:19 NLT
Prayer to be a woman of welcome–we ask Him. He loves being asked.
Thank you for inviting me to your table. Thank you for Jesus died on the cross for all my sins and that now I have a place, a home with you forever. Please help me live for you and with You. Give me grace and strength to offer You to another. Thank You for loving me. Please make me a woman of welcome.
In Jesus name, Amen
